Today after Caroline and Graham's nap, I gave them some cheese as part of their snack. When they were finished, Graham looked at me and said, "More cheese." Caroline overheard and repeated the same phrase.*
This is notable for two reasons: First, I haven't mentioned this on my blog, but they don't talk much yet. Their vocabulary is still pretty limited, but they actually do have words that they've made up on their own (twin speak). I'm pretty sure they're a little behind the average 23 month old, and I'm hoping to have their speech development evaluated after their 2 year well-check. So this is the first time I've heard them put two words together, and I swelled with pride. And secondly, of course their first two-word phrase would be about food.
*This happens so often. One of them will say a word or learn something new for the first time, and the other one repeats it almost immediately (for the first time). It's as if they wait on each other to achieve milestones. Twins... fascinating.

That is awesome. They are so cute! Even if you don't update the blog, I hope you have a record of more of those fascinating "twin things." It will be so neat to see how it develops the older they get.
ReplyDeletei love them. and i love that they love cheese. ;)
ReplyDeleteYay!! I love that they love cheese, too. And that they have that cute twin talk. :)
ReplyDeleteWow! This is interesting. BTW Their Aunt Zan once quit dating a guy because he didn't like cheese.
