Easter Weekend, 2011

Despite being away from our families this weekend, we had a really nice weekend here in CH, just the five of us.  On Friday, it was rainy and chilly. Matthew had to work and I spent most of the day hanging out with the littles at home and cleaning the house for the weekend.  After the afternoon nap, we went over to the Harshbargers' house. The big kids dyed Easter Eggs, the little kids played, the moms and dads enjoyed a few cocktails, and we all had pizza for dinner. I am loving the Friday afternoon/evening family playdates that we have every once in awhile.





On Saturday, we got together with the Owens and checked out the Fullsteam Brewery in Durham. It's 100% family friendly and has some great beer on tap, so a good time was had by all.  After the brewery visit, they came over to our house for an Easter Egg hunt and some dinner.









On Sunday morning, we woke up and the Easter Bunny had come to visit!



We had a great breakfast of chocolate croissants (divine, because I gave up all sweets for Lent), fruit and coffee. We cleaned up and went on a hike with the Owens.  The kids and dads enjoyed skipping and throwing rocks into the creek.







Afterward, there was lunch (and mimosas!). And then we spent most of the day hanging around the house.  I baked a carrot cake and made a nice Easter dinner. We tried to get pictures of the crew decked out in their Easter finest.





 







There are definitely some cute ones, but I still don't think we're going to have much success with group pictures until they all understand the concept of bribery.
